Oho Enthan Baby is Krishna Kumar Ramakumar‘s romantic drama that centers on real-life feeling and effervescent storytelling, and stars Vishnu Vishal, Rudra (brother of Vishnu Vishal) debut on screen, and Marathi Actress Mithila Palkar’s first film in Tamil movie.

Plot Summary

Rudra enacts an up-and-coming assistant director who tries to read an A-list actor (played by Vishnu Vishal himself) a love story. He interrupts the actor mid-pitch and asks, “What happened next?” And that’s when Rudra breaks the news that that’s not a book, that’s my life, and that love ended up in a breakup.

The actor then assigns him an assignment: “Run into her again, live the rest of the story, then come back. Only then will I give you my call sheet.”

Here, the story proceeds to a vibrant recounting of yesteryear love—school crushes, kissing, college days, misunderstanding, and eventual heartbreak. The latter half proceeds to find out if love reappears and if the hero finishes the film.

Performances & Direction

Rudra impresses on debut, providing innocence in school scenes and emotive passion when adult. He is particularly effortless when playing love and sentiment pieces. Mithila Palkar, through those expressive eyes and unconventional glamour, provides a fresh face to Tamil cinema. Her styling, dance, and controlled facial expressions are striking.

Divya, Rudra’s crush from school, shows up in a brief yet striking capacity. Vishnu Vishal portrays an imagined version of himself and shines within scenes that reflect his own real-life situation. Boss Mysskin guest stars, and his scenes are cheered by the audience.

Technical Side

The film, on a visual note, looks stunning. The colorful wedding moments, college trips, and location shoots are fun to watch. Harish Kannan’s cinematography and Jen Martin’s music give the film a modern, bubbly touch. The background score especially provides weight to emotional scenes.

What Could Have Been Better

The second half falls behind a bit, and there’s just too much cinematic sensibility to certain scenes. Certain romantic interludes—like teenage pashes and casual imbibing—may not agree with everyone. Some emotionally centered, family-based moments veer close to melodrama.

Verdict

Oho Enthan Baby is a charming teenage drama that captures the subtlety of modern love and self-transformation. Though not everyone may relate to this show, there’s enough charm, color, and sentimental value that teenage audiences empathize with. Rudra will prove to be a new-age Tamil hero, and there’s an eminently introspective debut by Krishnakumar.
